Here are some of the questions we are most often asked; please click on
the question to see our answer. If you have a question that is not answered here, feel free to
contact us!
Q. At what age should I start using Plants Grown Up or Polished
Cornerstones with my children?
A. The answer to this question depends partly on how much you want to
work along with your children. Both books can be started very early (at
age 5 or 6) if you plan to help.
We recommend assisting your children with Bible memorization at a very
early age. Young minds, with friendly encouragement, memorize quickly!
Plants Grown Up and Polished Cornerstones both have memory
verses at the beginning of each chapter and can be started as soon as your
children are old enough to memorize with you.
Many of the projects in both books can be completed by young children with
their parents’ help. Many projects and Bible studies can be done
independently as soon as your children can read and write. Projects in
each section are arranged according to difficulty and age level, with the
easiest projects first.
The "How To Use" section on pages 17-30 of each book gives detailed
suggestions, ideas, and plans for working Plants Grown Up and Polished
Cornerstones projects into your daily schedule. If you already have the
book, we highly recommend that you read this chapter!
Q. Do I have to use all the projects and lessons in Plants Grown Up or
Polished Cornerstones?
A. Absolutely not! Think of these books like cookbooks! Do you cook
every recipe in a cookbook? I don’t! I look for the recipes that I
think our family would enjoy, and leave the ones with mushrooms and
Brussels sprouts for someone else to try. In the same way Plants Grown
Up and Polished Cornerstones are designed to meet the
individual needs and interests of individual families. You know your
children! Assess their strengths and weaknesses and choose appropriate
projects, Bible studies, and memory verses to help them grow. We are
simply trying to offer you many, many choices. Don’t try to do everything!
Q. Do I have to buy all the other books and resources you mention in
Plants Grown Up and Polished Cornerstones?
No! When I’m thumbing through my cookbooks, I reject recipes that call
for exotic ingredients that I don’t have and am unwilling to purchase. In
the same way, you don’t need to buy every resource that is
mentioned in these two books. Pick and choose what fits your interests and
your budget. Stock your bookshelves with the additional books that you
think you will use the most as you use Plants Grown Up and
Polished Cornerstones.
I would recommend having a good concordance and topical Bible when your
children are old enough for basic Bible study projects. Use the internet
to help you learn more about the other resources that are suggested in our
books before you make your decisions.
Q. What children's ages are appropriate for the Ruby and Goldie Doll
kits?
A. We think the Ruby Doll is appropriate for ages 6 and up, if younger
girls have their mother's help. The Goldie Doll is a little more
advanced--more suitable for ages 9 and up.
Q. Will Doorposts have a booth at the curriculum fair in my area this
year?
A. See our current Curriculum Fair List.

Q. I received your e-mail with a free study, but I am having problems
downloading it. What can I do?
A. First, make sure you have a program on your computer for reading .pdf
files, such as Adobe reader. You can download Adobe Reader for free from
the
Adobe website. If you still cannot access the file, contact us and we
will send the file as an attachment.
Q. Doorposts e-mailed me a free chart or study a while ago, and I have
lost it. Can I still get it somewhere?
A. Resources from our recent e-mails are posted on our
website; you can download them from the "Free Resources for Parents"
page.
Q. How can I get some free Doorposts catalogs for my friends or support
group?
A. Just contact us with your name and
address, and let us know how many catalogs you can use, and we will be
happy to send them to you.
Q. Do you have any charts or books that only quote from the King James
Bible?
A. As Unto the Lord, Beauty and the Pig, Hidden
Treasures, Plants Grown Up, and Polished Cornerstones
quote exclusively from the King James version. For Instruction in
Righteousness quotes from King James with about 30% of the verses in
New King James. The charts quote from more than one translation. If you
would like your chart to be King-James-only, we recommend printing or
writing the verses in KJV and pasting them over the other translation.
Q. What Bible translations does Doorposts use?
A. We use mostly King James for our books, but we occasionally have
used a few other translations in the charts. Our purpose is to help your
children understand what the verse says and how it applies to their lives.
Translations quoted in our charts include King James Version, New
International Version, New American Standard Bible, New King James
Version, and New Life Version.
Q. Does Doorposts accept returns?
A. Yes. See our return policy on the
Ordering Instructions page.
